I returned this item immediately as this is misrepresentation. When I opened the box of 'web design studio' i was confronted with a different program called WebPlus 10, which is now 10 years old and extremely basic. This software is not made by the company on the box, its made by Serif and its version 1 of software that is now on version X4. You can probably pick up Webplus 10 for free these days.

If you want a good piece of web design software go for Webplus X4 which is more expensive but much better than the ancient webplus 10. Course if you want webplus 10 and feel like paying for it for some reason... then by all means buy this.

Ok for an out the box set up it is plug and play
however!!
Emails are a joke, I use it for my small company and oftern customers don't get my emails, I also don't get theres. I also noted that to log on can take so long that I just give up. When i am out on the road I use a lap top and a 3G dongle and it takes ages to log on, so long that I can surf the net on new sites and Mr Site still has not loaded up..
I contacted Mr site about this and they just come out with some waffle. The fact of the matter is the server they use is not good enough. When they sort that out to increase the speed and reliability of the emails then it will be a good product. I have the Pro and the basic.
Also for E cart using only Pay Pal is terrible. Paypal is not very good and it's been proven that customers don't like Paypal and when they see paypal alot click off and look else where. If they added in Nockecks as well then I would continue with them. I am letting the year run out with my company sites and then going else where. Very disapointed they have an ideal model but lacks any real punch to be a good complete package. OK for basic make your own web sites about projects and the like.
For the Pro to be a monthly payment I want more from it..
shame really. I am waiting for some one else to come along with a better product and they will and I will be with them.

We bought this package to create a secondary website for my business but since working on it we've discovered that Pay Pal is the only method of taking payment, which isn't ideal because the buyers right aren't the same as a direct credit card transactions (not many people know that!) and also if you're creating a shop where you need sizes & colours you can't have 2 drop downs - which is essential really.

All that aside it's a very easy package to use but I would suggest researching what you need & checking that this ticks all the boxes before you buy.

Registering a domain name and finding appropriate site hosting can be dauntingly complicated and is often expensive. Mr Site takes care of everything for you. Choosing and registering a domain name is simplicity itself and takes about two minutes. The retail package price includes one whole year of hosting and of ownership of your chosen web address. Mr Site is by far the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to establish a professional looking website for personal or business purposes. I highly recommend Mr Site to people who are overwhelmed at the thought of publishing their own website.

I have only one reservation. I found the site templates to be fairly limited. The facilities provided to customise your website beyond the templates are frustratingly restricted. I wanted to create a site from scratch to my own design but was unable to do so with the included tools. However Mr Site does feature simple instructions for uploading web pages made in other software packages or even coded from scratch.

Having used a number of website making programmes before, and been disappointed at the outcome, I bought this Magix programme with a certain amount of trepidation. However, once the proramme loaded, and I got online, which is where you actually build your site, everything was so easy. You have quite a varied selection of templates and designs to work with, you can have a site up and running within an hour. I only wanted to have a personal site, and for this the Magix Website Maker 4 programme is absolutely brilliant. There are templates for running a business site, but as I've said I only wanted a personal site for my family and friends to visit, so those are designs I've not used. Everything about your site is accessed via the Online Control Center, this makes it so easy to keep updating, and changing things on your site, it becomes a pleasure, rather than a chore. Being a silver surfer and not well versed in computers, (Which is perhaps why I didn't fare so well with the previous programmes I've bought) I found this programme the ideal solution, and the amount of web space you get for free is terrific. I've been up and running now for a month without any problems whatsoever. I fully recommend this programme, it's the best I've ever bought, and in my own opinion money well spent. Thanks Magix

Be very careful with this product If you don't cancel it 8 weeks before the first year expires they will hound you for payment for a second year. It's a legal con. I would never buy another Magix product. The customer care is awful.

Read the fine print carefully. I watched their video, read the brochure, looked at reviews. The message seemed clear: A web creation application that allows you to create great looking flash web sites using a SAAS (not hosted) model. You can transfer your own domain name to them for hosting or choose one as part of the package for 12 months.

Realty, from the dialogue I have had with their support team in Germany is a little different. You can only transfer "supported top-level domains" names to them. Unless you want to pay for two hosting services when they can do a redirect to their service, you may need to find a new domain name.

Why so complicated. Well it seems that the web site you create is never yours to own. It must stay on the Magix server. So unlike a true SAAS model where you buy the right to use the software and its output. The Magix model means you cannot export or save your web site for uploading to a hosting service of your choice according to their support team.

In defence the web tools are nice. If all you want to do is create a web site and are happy with a convoluted web site name with a top level domain its great. If not look elsewhere.

So much better than my old Front Page 2000, 8 Dec 2010

My ISP decided to stop supporting Front Page 2000, so I purchased this software package.
What a great piece of software,not like Front Page but so much more easy to use.
Everything is drag and drop,with easy to use instructions. Ok the digital manual is pretty big, but its all there with no complicated dialog. The manufacturers say its a program that works on the fact that you dont need to know whats under the hood to creat a website, and they are right, you dont need to know html or tables, you just put the graphics or text where you want on the page and the program does the rest.
Lots of templates that are totaly editable, and so many easy ways to create pop ups etc.. I have found this to be an oustanding value for money piece of software.

It looked like the best way to make a new site - build from scratch, or customise a template in a user-friendly way. I'd been working with Website X5 Evolution. It was easy to use, but had layout limitations. Web Designer 6 promised so much more flexibility - the ability to move any object around a page, to make the text flow round images.

Getting stuck in, the biggest problem was finding the information to do that simple thing - build a clean, uncomplicated, customised site without having to scroll through reams of instructions. The videos give only basic information, the booklet that comes with the package has nothing to say, the online help document is vast - without being illuminating - and the PDF that comes with the disc is 370 pages long. I've scrolled through it three or four times, reading what seems to be relevant, but the experience is overwhelming. Exploring YouTube videos takes you into esoteric realms of the progamme's capabilities - it's plainly able to do so much - but I just couldn't find straightforward instructions that would help me do what I needed to do.

Which is why I've only given two stars to the product. I would like to have given more, and maybe will in the future, if I can get to grips with this monster. But right now I have to say "proceed with caution". And it's back to X5 Evolution to get that site on line.

I bought this software because I wanted my own website, but didn't want to pay a web designer every time I wanted to make a change to the website. I was a complete beginner and knew absolutely nothing about HTML or web design, but with this software you don't need to know anything. If you know how to use Microsoft Word, then you will find Namo Web Editor easy to use. You can download it from the Namo website, but I bought it from Amazon as it came with a manual, which I have found invaluable. It comes with lots of website 'templates' and you choose the most appropriate one and just add your own words and images. Professional web designers may find this program frustrating, but for beginners it's great.
